Foundation Chimding aims to improve living conditions and prospects of children in Nepalese villages, working closely with local people. We are active in the nine villages of VDC Kerung in the district of Solukhumbu. Kerung is situated in the vicinity of Mount Everest in Northeast Nepal.  We cooperate with the local community in renovating and improving schools and libraries; training programmes for teachers are executed on a regular basis.

Teacher training in Chimding

A survey of all the schools in VDC-Kerung:

1. Kerung higher secondary school,
2. Pattale lower secondary school,
3. Bagam secondary school,
4. Singane primary school,
5. Chimding, lower secondary school,
6. Merangding Higher secondary school,
7. Angpang lower secondary school,
8. Mate angpang lower secondary school

After the earthquakes in 2015 the school in Chimding was totally destroyed. With your help a completely new school has been built on a safer location in the village. In Kerung financial help came forward for repairs to the classrooms. In Chyangshar the library was seriously damaged; the authorities have contributed towards a new building.

New school in Chimding,

After restoration of the buildings the first priority will be teacher training and bringing the collections of the libraries up to standard.
Our foundation would also like to realise a new school building plus library in the village of Bagam at a distance of three hours walking from Chimding. Later the foundation would also like to add small libraries to the schools in the other villages. A start will be made in the village of Pattale.
